It seems like there is an epidemic of allergies and even of asthma afflicting the people I see in Practice. And these people are so frustrated! The only answer medicine offers is medication. Some of these medicines leave a person tired, with a dry mouth, and sometimes feeling shaky and hyper. Again, these medicines are treating only symptoms and not causes.
What are likely causes of allergies and asthma? It could be many things, but two likely causes are food allergies and incomplete enzymatic reactions. Food allergies may not immediately manifest when a food is eaten. Many times it takes 2 or 3 days for a food allergy to take hold. The person may feel sluggish, itchy, restless, stuffed up, or any of the other things that strike with allergies. When one stops eating the food, the allergies stop. And if other nutritional needs of the body are met, one might one day be able to eat the food again!!
Incomplete enzymatic reactions occur in the following way:
A --> B --> C --> D
When substance A enters the body, it is converted by enzymes to B, then to C, and finally to D at which point it does its work for good health and healthy metabolism. The enzymes have factors that allow them to do their work, and these factors are vitamins and minerals. If one's body is deficient in one or more of the vitamins, then the enzyme cannot do its job, and the substance that the enzyme would have been breaking down builds up to possibly toxic amounts. For example, If the enzyme converting B to C does not have its helper vitamin, substance B will build up to toxic amounts in the body. Quite often, one of the reactions of the body to this insult will be an allergy or asthma.
In addition, food allergies, incomplete enzyme reactions, and toxicity are major factors in the body's inability to lose weight. Fat is one of the ways the body has of storing toxins! If one is toxic in any way, one is likely to be fat.
So, what can one do to determine if one has food allergies or incomplete enzyme reactions? First do the PMT with Dr. Baldwin to determine which foods are metabolized best by the Client's body. Then do the 3-week detoxification with Dr. Baldwin. This 3-week Detox includes a food elimination diet which is the very best way to determine what foods might cause allergic reactions in the body.
