Welcome to the Newsletter of
Pathways to Optimal Health! This month I would like to focus on why you might
be interested in my services as far as Nutritional Counseling. After all, there are many health oriented
services our there, and you must choose very carefully which one is best for
you.
In October of 2007 I turned
63, and I can honestly say that I feel much younger! I still have as
much energy as I had in my younger years, and I have not had any need for
medical intervention in many years. I take no prescription drugs at all. While
I have a few minor problems, I am approaching them without medical treatment. I
take natural vitamin capsules every day, and I feel that has a lot to do with
my good health.
Doctors often tell people who
have great health as they age that it is “just a matter of having good genes.”
That does not apply to me. My father was in “good health” until he died from a
heart attack at age 81, but my mother suffered terribly from arthritis from age
17 until she died at age 87 from the complications of Alzheimer’s disease. My
only sibling, my sister Jo Ann, died from cancer at age 57. While much of my
family lived long lives, they suffered from problems long before death took
them away. So, saying that good health is genetic is just a small piece of the
puzzle. Genetics may load the gun, but environment pulls the trigger! And it
has been proven that our genes can be modified by Nutrition!
Over the last many years my
wife Kathy and I have made a very conscious effort to live in a very healthy
manner. We eat according to our Metabolic Type; we take supplements to enhance
the vitamins and minerals provided by our foods; we eat organically most of the
time. All of these things are important.
Good health is not just a
shot in the dark. In order to eat according to your Metabolic Type, you must
know your Type. This is something I do in my office. It is not simple to
determine Metabolic Type (MT). One must have baseline readings, and then the
readings are repeated several times after the body is challenged. To do it
right, MT demands the use of blood, saliva, urine, and measurement of the vital
signs of the body both before and after the challenge.
I don’t think that it’s just
chance that has given me such good health in my “advancing years.” I think it
is the result of planning, good living, and hard work. I still plan to die
young—I still want to be 110 when that happens! Kathy and I want to be able to
do things with our Grandchildren as they grow up. We want to enjoy watching
them grow up. And the only way to do that and make it fun is to be healthy.
My passion in my work is to
make this possible for everyone who seeks out my services. As I transition from
full time Dentistry to full time Nutrition I plan to fulfill that passion in
helping others to feel as good as they want to feel. You don’t have to be sick
and tired of being sick and tired! Over the next years, I will use this
Newsletter as a forum to help you live life to the fullest!
Please tell your family,
friends, co-workers, and anyone else who might be interested to please sign up

As always, your questions,

All of Dr. Baldwin’s recommendations are
based on solid scientific research.
However, no one Nutritional Plan will work for ever person, nor will any
one Nutritional Plan work for every disease or degenerative condition. Pathways is not a substitute for
proper medical diagnosis of conditions which may require medical or surgical
intervention. Our Diagnostic System
allows us to treat the person with the condition and not the condition that has
the person. Our program is not simply a
weight loss program. It is a
program intended to help the client learn how he or she can attain optimal
health and wellness with a healthy immune system. We maintain that everyone should be able to
live life to the fullest and enjoy each day of life. To get in touch with us,
