Group Detoxification and Cleansing at Avondale Center on Solomons Island: Meetings on Thursdays, September 25 and on October 2 and 16 at 7PM. Detoxification

 

 

We have a lot to cover this month, so I am going to get started right away. Since we are having two big events dealing with toxicity and detoxification this month, that is going to be the topic. Please remember that I am giving a talk on the subject “Creating a Non-toxic Home Environment” on Thursday, September 11 at 7:00 pm and also that our three week detoxification begins on Tuesday, September 30 with the first meeting for that detoxification being on Thursday, September 25 at 7:00 pm. Both meetings are at the Avondale Center Office. Check our “Events” section about what is coming up.

The first part of this Newsletter comes largely from my favorite Medical Doctor, Sherry Rogers. I use her material quite a bit, and love what she contributes to the health of all of us. Her book, Detoxify or Die is right in line with what I teach!

 

Whenever I talk about phthalates it seems there is a little confusion. Simply put, phthalates are plasticizers and are the number one pollutant in the body. We cannot totally avoid them since they are the backbone of all plastics. They make plastics flexible and durable, and they are found in pesticides, detergents, cosmetics, medications, and even shampoos! When they enter our cells they cause the symptoms of diseases that medicine then treats with drugs forever. Phthalates are in not only every human, including newborn babies, but are even in every species of animal in the wild and in all regions of the world, including even the most pristine areas. I will use the term phthalates and the term plastics interchangeable, but please keep in mind that phthalates are only one of the toxins present in plastics.

 

Phthalates damage the chemistry of fatty acids which are the fundamental chemistry in every cell lining or membrane. Fatty acids are the basis of the brain, memory, emotion, all hormones, and even life itself. Plastics damage the chemistry need for all healing. Phthalates create a zinc deficiency which goes on to create indigestion, depression, heart disease, cancer, diabetes, and accelerated aging. They damage the pancreas, thus creating diabetes, insulin resistance, and metabolic syndrome X. This leads to heart disease and other vascular diseases.

 

Phthalates damage the metabolism of our most important fatty acid, DHA which causes abnormal functions from low intelligence to the need for glasses to early cancers and heart disease. They lead to chronic inflammation which is the ultimate underlying pathology of all disease.

 

Phthalates lower sulfation which stops the ability to detoxify your body. One of the many side effects of this is allergies to molds, dusts, foods, and everyday chemicals that never bothered you before. Now the traditional medical doctor thinks you are nuts!!

 

They also damage hormone function, especially of the thyroid and testosterone. They also do this without affecting the tests for these two vital components of body health. So, the doctor can find no indication of what is causing the “disease,” even if he looks for it. Now, you are called a hypochondriac.

 

And it goes on and on. They damage the cytochromes (yielding an inability to detoxify other pollutants), they poison the body’s ability to make catalase (the enzyme that blocks the growth of cancerous tumors), and they damage the peroxisomes (leading to high cholesterol and low “happy hormones” known as neurotransmitters).

 

And most diseases will not be cured no matter what the doctor does unless the phthalates are removed.

 

You get phthalates from plastic wrap (like Saran Wrap), Styrofoam cups and trays, plastic bottles, and all other plastics, especially when they are heated, either by the Sun or by microwaving. They come from some of the enteric coatings on pills that are intended to make the pills “slow release.” All medicinal patches release phthalates into the body to be taken up by the cell membranes. IV tubings and bags and even dialysis machines boost phthalates in the body. Contact lenses, dental glues, and even glues for joint replacements release phthalates into the body. We get a dose of phthalates from skin absorption of cosmetics, body lotions, hair gels, shampoos, deodorants, PVC pipes, detergents and some foods. I could go on and on, but I hope you get the picture. Since plastics damage every aspect of every cell function, they make it impossible for people to heal, lose weight or just plain get well.

 

So, what can you do? I think this is the reason that some people think Nutritionists who are experts in detoxification should be properly called “Cell Repair Specialists.”

 

First of all, you need to be tested to be able to diagnose if you have toxicity, which toxins are in your body, and in what amounts. Then, we can start the process of detoxification. We do this with an Organic Acid Test and Environmental Pollutants Test. These two tests will then help us to customize a detoxification program for you, and to be able to measure whether our treatment is working. We can use very safe supplements and antioxidants to do this detoxification.

 

We also can eat two or more servings a day of Brassica or cruciferous vegetables such as cabbage, broccoli, Brussels sprouts, cauliflower, radishes, watercress, arugula, turnips, collard greens, kale, rutabaga, and more. We can drink Brassica Tea (made by the Baltimore Coffee and Tea Company).

 

And we can use the ultimate detoxification machine—a Far Infrared Sauna. This not only reduces the environmental pollutants like phthalates, but also all the other EP’s and even heavy metals like cadmium, mercury, lead and aluminum.

 

Remember that even the animals in the wild, pristine areas harbor phthalates and they don’t drink from Styrofoam cups or use plastic wrap. Polar bears in the Arctic have osteoporosis and hypothyroidism from our chemicals. Considering the level of plastics we are exposed to daily in our air, food and water, we should detoxify our bodies on a continuing basis forever. It is the only way to reverse many diseases, and it is an important and potent part of your anti-aging plan.

 

Because I have been asked so many times about the causes of Autism Spectrum Disorders and also about what I mean when I talk about a “sane vaccination schedule, I want to touch on another subject (this is from very recent research and I thank Dr. Joseph Mercola for the following information):

There are certain things that can be done to prevent and recover from Autism and all the Autism Spectrum Disorders (ADD, ADHD, etc.).:

1.     Avoid exposure to as many environmental toxins as you can, such as pesticides, herbicides, and all sources of mercury, aluminum, and fluoride.

2.     Eat a diet tailored to your correct Metabolic Type (see our Web Page).

3.     Eliminate all milk products from your diet. This includes all milk products such as ice cream, yogurt and whey. Even avoid natural flavorings in food.

4.     Eliminate all sugar, juice, soda, French fries and wheat.

5.     Get 30 minutes of sun a day and take a high quality Vitamin D supplement all year long, but especially in the winter.

6.     Follow a sensible vaccination schedule if you decide to or feel forced to vaccinate your child or yourself:

a.     No vaccinations at all until the child is two years old.

b.     No vaccines that contain mercury (Thimerasol) or aluminum.

c.     No live virus vaccines.

d.     The following vaccines may be given one at a time every six months beginning at age 2:

Pertussis

Diphtheria

Tetanus

Polio (the Salk vaccine, cultured in human cells)

No other vaccinations are indicated or advised.

Healthy Recipe for September, 2008

 

 

White Bean Chili

1 tbsp. olive oil                                                    

½ cup chopped onions                      

2-3 cups organic chicken broth

2 cans chopped green chili’s

2 cloves garlic

1 lb. free range chicken    

dash of cayenne

1 tsp. oregano

2 jars organic white beans (32-48 ounces depending on desired thickness of chili)

 

Sauté olive oil, garlic, onion and chicken until chicken is cooked. Add the remaining ingredients and cook on low heat until remainders of the ingredients are hot.

 

This is delicious!!

 

 

 

 

Supplement of the Month

 

 

Nutriclear

 

There have been several important changes in the field of Detoxification recently, and this supplement is one of them. It is a powder which can be mixed in pure water, vegetable juices from organic vegetables, or almond milk. NutriClear supplies key nutrients for liver function, energy production, and intestinal or gut balance. Depending on the Client’s condition NutriClear may be taken for 10-30 days.
